The publication of a dissertation about Göttingen University during the years of WW I induced the idea of initiating a new series on the history of the University. The publishers, Prof. Dr. Hermann Wellenreuther and Prof. Dr. Nicolaas Rupke of the History of Science Institute at the Georg-August-Universität, wish to offer a platform for papers written not only at, but also written about the history of the Göttingen University. They should deal with trends in research in the natural and social sciences, as well as with research in the fields of historical cultural and mentality questions from the 18th to the 21st centuries. Editions of text-sources are also welcome.
