Progress and regression in the law can be observed in many respects. They become more clearly visible in the long-term perspective of legal history. However, they are also the subject of contemporary historical circumstances. Some political changes and other circumstances influence the development of the law. The diverse constellations become visible in the individual studies and open up a general perspective. The major topics of European law and procedural law are addressed, as well as the forms in civil law, labor law and criminal law. This volume contains the contributions of the German-Hungarian Symposium of the Faculty of Law of the Eötvös Loránd University of Budapest and the Faculty of Law of the Georg August University of Göttingen on May 30 and 31 in 2024 and is evidence of the fruitful cooperation between the two faculties.
