Unambiguous metadata is very important for the verification and dissemination of publications. This also includes the reliable, disambiguated identification of authors of publications using persistent identifiers. Just as an ISBN, for example, is a unique identification number for a specific book, there are also unique personal identification numbers for authors and editors, such as orcid or ISNI. The book trade now requires publishers to provide unique and persistent identifiers for their authors when reporting publications. We therefore ask our authors and publishers - if not already available - to create your orcid (no charge) or to check whether an ISNI already exists. Please inform us of your personal ID at the latest when you submit your publication to us. You will also benefit from this unique link between work and person and thus from the increased visibility of your works in professional reference systems.
